Ambition London is Learning and Work Institute’s flagship programme supporting employers and individuals to meet their skills needs, making use of Advanced Learner Loans to support their learning. Funded by the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, this high profile project will help close the London skills gap.

The National Skills Academy for Health are dedicated to ensuring the support workforce have the right information and guidance to be able to develop their skills and progress within their chosen career. This also includes supporting individuals to access careers at the point of entry.

We are delighted to be able to work with the Learning and Work institute on the Ambition London project to develop a toolkit that ensures a standardised high quality information advice and guidance service for people who want to succeed within the health sector.

The Skills Platform is part of Skills for Health

The toolkit consists of workshops and facilitator notes that can be used by JCP advisors, training providers, employers and mentors and can be used to support the individuals who require an intervention.
It includes sessions that can be delivered to managers or mentors to upskill, and provide them with the skills required to support individuals to progress.

AMBITION LONDON

Sessions for individuals. These sessions are developed to support those with the responsibility of delivering information, advice and guidance with the content and resources to do so. Full workshop resources can be found for the following topics:

  • Confidence building
  • Applying for a job in the health sector
  • Job and programme search skills
  • Continuing  Professional Development in the health sector
  • Planning for success

The toolkit is broken down into chapters that contain smaller sections. The smaller sections contain the session content, resources, handouts, videos and case studiesIn order to evaluate the resources, the National Skills Academy for Health need to track who is accessing the resources.
